Nowadays the infection of the bacteria Helicobacter pylori is looked upon as an important cause of gastritis.

(1) Useful Herbs in the Treatment of Gastritis

- Asparagus (Asparagus racemosa) Asparagus is known to be an antispasmodic. It reduces the fire in the stomach. The root of the asparagus is effective in reducing the hyperacidity of the digestive system.

- Bitter Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla) The tea of the bitter chamomile is effective in allaying the gastritis that is caused due to tensions and worries.

- Cardamom (Elattaria cardamomum) Cardamom has soothing effects on the stomach. It is especially beneficial if the gastritis causes heartburn.

- Indian Gooseberry (Emblica officinalis) The Indian gooseberry, or amla, is very beneficial in the treatment of several stomach ailments, gastritis included. The other digestive ailments it is used for dyspepsia, burning sensation, anorexia, vomiting and hemorrhage.

- Licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra) The root of the licorice can soothe the inflammation and the injury to the stomach. It is also known to reduce the proliferation of Helicobacter pylori.

- Rhubarb (Rheum emodi) Rhubarb is a mild agent; so it is effectively used in treating gastritis problems in children. It can reduce the acidity in the stomach.

- Sandalwood (Santalum album) Sandalwood helps in gastritis because it has cooling properties. It can soothe the stomach muscles inflamed by gastritis.

(2) Dietary Treatments for Gastritis

A careful dietary regime is needed in case of gastritis. The following points must be noted.

- Only rice that has been aged for one year must be used. Wheat and barley are beneficial.

- Among vegetables white pumpkin, bitter gourd, cucumber, green banana and banana flower are effective.

- Cow's milk is preferable to buffalo's milk.

- People suffering from gastritis must not confuse their stomach glands with different kinds of foods at the same time. It is beneficial if the person is kept on a single diet. Ideally the person must be kept on a milk diet or on a diet of old rice.

- Vitamin C has the capacity to help in the absorption of iron and calcium salts in the body. This eases the digestive process. Therefore, the diet must be rich in vitamin C. Foods that contain vitamin C to a commendable quantity are amlas, oranges, etc.

- Pungent and sour tastes must be avoided. Even chocolates, tea and coffee must be avoided as these can increase the acidic contents in the stomach.

- The person must never eat till the stomach is fool. In gastritis it is better to eat little quantities each time, so that the stomach gets proper time to digest the food.

- Sesame seeds and curds must be avoided.

- There should be a total stop to alcoholism.

(3) Ayurvedic Treatment for Gastritis

Amalaki choorna or Triphala choorna is given in a dose of three grams thrice a day for seven days.

If there is constipation along with gastritis, then Avipattikara choorna is taken as the medicine of choice. The dosage is two teaspoonfuls at bedtime.

There is a list of other Ayurvedic preparations that are useful in the treatment of gastritis. Some of these are Dhaatri loha, Sukumara ghrita, Sootashekhara rasa, Kaamadudha rasa, Leela Vilas rasa, Chandrakala rasa and Amalapittantaka rasa.

(4) Home Medications

- Take one teaspoonful of licorice root powder and mix it with pure ghee and honey. Take this twice each day on an empty stomach.

- Have a banana early in the morning. Drown them with milk. This reduces the acidity within the stomach in some days.

- After each meal have a glassful of milk with Isphagula in it.

- Squeeze the juice of an orange and add some roasted cumin seeds in it. Have this with some salt in it. It provides immense relief in gastritis.

Apart from these, keep the mind always stress-free. Do not go to bed immediately after a meal. There should be an ideal gap of an hour between taking a meal and going to bed.

The groups explore topics of human awareness, spiritual healing and transformation. They investigate how an ever-expanding field of love can effect positive change in the world and how we can each offer ourselves in service.

Matthew Fox Lessons from the Mystics
The author of over 30 books, American priest and theologian Matthew Fox has long been a lightning rod for religious reform. Formerly a member of the Dominican order within the Roman Catholic Church, Fox was expelled in 1993 from the Dominican order for disobedience or as Fox says, The Pope fired me. His beliefs and teachings of original blessing were seen as heretical to the Catholic view of original sin. Embracing the teachings of early mystic visionaries such as Meister Eckhart, Hildegard of Bingen, Thomas Aquinas, Saint Francis of Assisi and others, Fox became an influential proponent of what he calls Creation Spirituality, which also embraces Buddhism, Judaism, Sufism and Native American teachings.

After his expulsion, Fox became an Episcopal priest. He continues to bring his passion for transforming the spiritual experience through education and the use of mystical approaches to worship. The Techno Cosmic Masses he created, based on raves, are designed to connect younger worshippers to a more ecstatic and body-centered celebration of spirituality. A rave is a youth-oriented dance party involving modern genres of fast-paced electronic dance music and light shows.

In his keynote talk at the conference, Fox presented eight steps for ushering in the next stage of our evolutionary consciousness.

1. Compassion. A universal truth, compassion is taught by all major religious teachers. Aggression stems from the reptilian brain; there is no compromise with a crocodile. The development of the mammalian brain 2.5 million years ago introduced compassion; it was important to bond with others because of the need to care for a family. The essence of compassion, according to Meister Eckhart, is the belief that what happens to another, whether it be a joy or a sorrow, happens to me. With the truth of our oneness comes the realization that I am not just me. We need to trust our selfhood enough that we can mingle with the selfhood of another, Fox said. He quoted Thomas Aquinas, who said, Put a bridle of love on your passions, and your passions will carry you into compassion.

2. Breath. Meditation that honors breath is primal. In languages all over the world, the word for breath has the same root as the word for spirit: in English, respiration, inspiration, spirit. Breath is sacred; it is the source of our power and strength, fundamental to life itself.

3. Learn to integrate. Science points to the truth of interconnectivity and interdependence. Current scientific thought is a gift to our understanding of consciousness, Fox said. Reality is not objective; it operates within the context of relational interaction. Matter is nothing more than frozen light really slowly moving energy. The oldest and most universal name for divinity in the world is Light. In fact, we each carry the lineage, the story of the whole universe itself. Recognizing that everything in the Cosmos is light helps us realize that we are aligned with the Universe. Were here to fall in love with trees and animals and galaxies, as well as poems and music and heroes, Fox said.

4. Re-marry the divine feminine and the sacred masculine. Women have been doing their inner work, [and they] deserve more evolved men, Fox said. The Goddess has been returning for 40 years; shes back and shes pissed. Our greatest challenge today is not coming from another empire; it is our own destruction of the planet. The masculine principle in us all has tortured earth for its secrets. Its time to take care of Mother Earth.

5. Let go of war. Money going to war means its not going to education and health care. We are in a time now as described by the mystic Hafiz: Sometimes God wants to do us a great big favor. He turns us upside down and shakes all the nonsense out. Current world chaos is like a dark night of the species: the ultimate purpose is to purify our longing, to learn something profound. The world needs a tremendous burst of creativity to give birth to forms that work: new forms of government, cooperation, education economics, for example.

6. Education about spirituality. Our educational model neglects justice, art, creativity, spirit and too often, science. Weve followed the rationalistic Ren Descartes in our approach and emphasized the truth in the head, to the neglect of the truth of the heart and the lower chakras. Fox proposes a new curriculum that emphasizes the head knowledge in the morning and pursues the arts and creativity in the afternoon. At the core of Foxs philosophy of education are the Ten Cs: Cosmology and Ecology; Contemplation and Meditation; Creativity; Chaos and Darkness; Compassion; Courage; Critical Consciousness and Judgment; Community; Ceremony, Celebration and Ritual; and Character.

7. Stewardship. Our society has separated stewardship from commerce, justice from law, and sustainability from agriculture, and we need to re-introduce those aspects. It takes courage to take care of our world; the root word for courage in Old French means big heart. The base of our sick society now is consumerism, Fox says. I think consumerism is an appeal to addiction. Its time now to cut back on consumption; its time to live and enjoy a simpler lifestyle. Everyone is profoundly free, he said, but you have to have a bonfire.

8. Ritual and Ceremony. Fox led the conference participants in expressions of worship through dance, chanting, toning, mystic teachings and poetry. Although these practices create experiences of unity, its not enough, he said; we need to translate these into action and express our creative selves in the Creative Field for the benefit of all.

Matthew Foxs new Creation Spirituality calls for deep involvement with others, with issues, with the earth and the very cosmos itself. We have to melt the dualism between contemplation and action, he said. Im not optimistic but Im hopeful, and hope is a verb with the sleeves rolled up.

How can I attract more love in my life?

This is a question Ive been asked a lot recently from coaching clients who are looking for their soulmates, and from a good friend whose recent divorce left a void in what used to be a very active social life.

As I thought about the question as it relates to both of these situations, I remembered a coffee mug that sat on my desk for years, which I used as a pen and pencil holder.

On it was a quote by Gerald Jampolsky, the renowned psychiatrist whose work has spanned over four decades. Teach only love, for that is what you are. These words are so perfect, because they express a universal truth: whatever it is that were seeking, we magnetize it by first giving it to others and to ourselves.

Attracting more love into our lives is not about trying to find it. Its about recognizing that the experience of love we are seeking whether its a romantic partnership or the love of friends, family and community is sourced from within ourselves. Now, I realize that for many people, this is one of those spiritual concepts that can be very hard to understand, so I want to give you a couple of real-life scenarios to help clarify exactly what I mean.

Have you ever had one of those days when you felt off? A day when you just didnt look or feel quite like yourself? Maybe it was the result of spending too much time working and not enough time taking care of yourself. Maybe there was no way to pinpoint the exact cause, but all you knew is that you didnt look or feel your very best. If youve ever had a day like that, you know that it doesnt matter how many times another person tells you how good you look; you cant really let in the compliment because you know that you are not looking your best.

Think now about a day when the opposite was true: you felt productive, magnetic, unstoppable, you felt beautiful. Was your feel good that day dependent on anyone else telling you how good you looked? No. And the reason for this is because you felt beautiful from the inside out. You had no need to seek outside validation because you were generating all the validation you needed from within.

When we are in tune with the truth of who we are, we dont need anyone or anything to confirm it. We know that were fabulous, that were important, and that were deserving of manifesting all our desires with ease. This inner knowing radiates out from us like an aura. We light up every room we enter, and good things seem to follow us wherever we go. In the same way that creativity inspires more creativity and one act of kindness builds upon another, the experience of love generates more love. Plain and simple, the fastest way to attract more love into our lives is to give more love.

As you move through each day, make it a point to notice everything there is to appreciate, everything there is to celebrate, and everything and everyone that you love. Focus on the feeling of love imagine it being broadcast like a radio signal and it will magnetize people and situations that are on the same wavelength. The universe always gives back to us the energy that we send out, and the energy of love is the most powerful, magnetic, and contagious of them all.

PHEONIX -- Last week, the media reported that conservative state lawmakers in West Virginia were pushing new legislation to deny spousal support to divorcing spouses who'd committed infidelity. Now, Arizona Family Law has jumped on the bandwagon too.

Republican state senator Linda Gray wants cheating and adultery to qualify as "misconduct" in a divorce. The proposed legislation SB1206,if passed, would allow evidence of "misconduct" that could potentiallyaffect issues such as property division, child support, and spousalsupport (known in the state as "spousal maintenance"). The law wouldn't stop judges from granting divorces in any way, as long as the marriages are considered "irretrievably broken".

There has been no date set yet for a hearing on the proposed legal change.

Senator Gray also feels that domestic violence, verbal abuse,abandonment, and financial irresponsibility (such as gambling away assets or spending money on an extramarital partner, for example) should count as misconduct as well. However, Divorce Law Arizona has not considered infidelity as a factor in divorce outcomes since the 1970s.

Sometimes in a relationship," Gray, who represents Glendale County, AZ, said to the East Valley Tribune, "people really have a good cause on why they are getting divorced. If there has been abuse, why not let
the judge know that?"

The legislation was created in part by Cathi Herrod, the president of the Center for Arizona Policy, a conservative organization
That promotes pro-family views. Herrod told the Tribune that her proposed change "would enable the judge to say to the party who wanted the divorce, 'You take the business and the debt,' [and to] the party who didn't want the divorce and still has a child at home, 'You get the house free and clear and you restart your life.'"

However, not everybody thinks the requested legislation will be of any benefit to divorcing couples, and some feel it may cause more harm than good.

"You're really inviting the parties to start bringing up who had the affair first and all these other issues. It's really going to expand the litigation," Judge Colleen McNally, who serves Maricopa County Superior Court, told the same paper. She added that such finger-pointing about infidelity and cheating in court "really has a negative effect on the kids." The Arizona Legislature makes divorcing parents go to special classes to help them diffuse conflict and focus on the children's needs, but Gray's and Herrod's legislation would detract from these positive efforts: "The whole focus of that class is[to help you] understand that something went wrong in your personal life, but you've got these kids. Let that go. Focus on [them]."

The legislation does not fully define "misconduct". Although Herrod reportedly intended it to imply adultery and spousal abuse, Judge McNally questioned the vague language, saying to the East Valley Tribune that it could very well mean, "'Who didn't pick up their socks?'"

Arizona family law currently doesn't guarantee spousal maintenance; spousal support usually goes to ex-spouses who have no means to support themselves, or who supported their exes through school, in longer marriages. In general, Arizona divorce law divides property equitably between divorcing spouses, with no consideration for marital misconduct.

It probably began in the past when man began to understand the beauty of animals. Coupled with his power over them, he probably decided that he wanted to have the beautiful animals that he had encountered on his hunting trips to be near him. Through the centuries, man has domesticated quite a few animals to serve his needs, and sometimes to serve no need at all. It is one thing to keep an animal nearby to serve one's needs but it is cruel to want to keep them 'just for fun'. Hence, keeping animals and birds in cages is quite ridiculous if not cruel.

It is most definitely cruel to keep any animal or bird in captivity; worse still confined in cages. An animal or bird is so carefree in its own environment. It knows of no restrictions. It goes about its own business of eating and drinking and creating babies. Even domestic animals would like to walk about and act according to their instincts and desires. Caging them would deprive them of this. How often have we seen caged animals pacing their cages in futile attempts to escape? Can we imagine the frustration that they feel? What do we get in making a creature furious, frustrated and depressed? Yet humans do it all the time. Since we would think it cruel if someone were to cage us, it stands to reason that we should not do it to others, even animals and birds. The sense of justice we hold so dear when it comes to humans should be extended to all living creatures.

Besides being cruel, it serves little purpose to want to cage animals and birds. Wild animals and birds being caged up serve our egoistic pleasure of power over others and that's about all that we do. Cultivating such natures does not do us any good; actually developing such natures will make us cruel and egoistic. Left in the wild a bird does all sorts of things; when kept in the cage, it just sits there. Granted that birds are beautiful to look at, we cannot observe the bird at its best when it is caged. To watch the bird at its best we should go to its habitat. Caging domestic animals just serves the purpose of controlling them. If we cannot look after them, why acquire them in the first place?

Finally, we have no right to do this; we do it because the creatures are powerless to prevent us from confronting them. If we are robbed of such rights, we would rather die than yield. Only in the cruelest of regimes are men and women confined only because the government - good or otherwise - feels that they are threats to their power or to the country. By what right then do we imprison animals and birds without any qualms?

Wild animals should be left free in their habitats and domestic animals should be given as much freedom as possible. The only reason for caging birds and animals is when they are a danger to themselves or to others. Nevertheless, wild animals and birds should never be captured in the first place.

Anger The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

As a child I was taught that anger was a bad emotion but I've have since come to understand that there are no bad feelings. All emotions have purpose and value as they teach us about ourselves based on how we react to external events. We assign value to each depending on how people act them out. If someone feels angry and reacts by screaming or hitting someone, it is pretty well agreed upon that that's bad. Hence the feeling behind the behavior is labeled likewise. Keep in mind that it's imperative to always separate the feeling from the behavior. The emotion may be appropriate to the situation but the actions that follow may not be.

GOOD ANGER: Anger is a necessary part of our existence as it alerts us to the fact that something is wrong or in need of our attention. For example, if I'm constantly annoyed at my husband, my anger may signify that I have too many expectations of him and am not accommodating enough of our differences. Becoming more aware of my arrogance and consciously changing my thoughts about him enable me to move beyond anger to a place of loving acceptance. My anger ultimately proves to be a blessing as the peace I now acquire not only benefits me but my husband as well.

We may also experience anger when we witness an injustice is occurring. Without becoming upset or irate, how would we know that we need to take action to correct it? In this regard, laws have been created by man to protect the innocent and create a fair and equitable society for everyone.

And in the event we feel threatened or unsafe, whether physically, emotionally, sexually, verbally, etc, anger prepares us for the vital fight or flight response. We either stay to correct a wrongdoing or we flee in order to keep ourselves safe.

BAD ANGER: Anger becomes problematic when it is mishandled, misdirected (at those who are undeserving) or the result of a misconception.

A popular song, Lost Boy, is one of my new top five favorites. I recently listened to it on Youtube and much to my surprise discovered that it's performed by a lovely dark skinned young woman. I had envisioned a 14 year old Caucasian girl with a short pixie haircut. I mentioned to a friend of mine how surprised I was. "She didn't sound black", I stated. "What's that supposed to mean?" she asked, clearly disturbed by my comment. "Just how are blacks supposed to sound?" She was clearly irate. "Some black singers have a very distinct kind of twang (for lack of a better descriptive term) to their voice", I responded, "much like a Southerner might or an Aussie from down under, a Hispanic sporting a Spanish accent, and so on. Each has a unique sound to their voice that gives insight into their heritage or where they're from."

In this instance, my friend clearly had unresolved issues with racism, insecurity, poor self-image or some such issue. Her reaction indicated that she was not comfortable with my comment and perceived it to be derogatory. Such a perception led her to respond with anger. When one takes personal offense to what others are saying or doing or misinterprets another's innocent actions as hostile, their anger reveals a deeper rooted issue that is causing distress to themselves. However, with serious introspection, one can determine the root cause of their indignation and thus seek an effective solution through understanding and healing.

Anger can be detrimental to our physical health as explosive or long-term anger can cause the body's natural immune system to break down making one more susceptible to a range of diseases from high blood pressure to ulcers, cancer and more. There are also times when we use anger against ourselves, when we are so upset we may deny ourselves the chance to be happy or to take advantage of a wonderful new opportunity; to laugh or find joy in the moment or to fully express or receive love. Anger can damage our outlook on life, impede our emotional well-being, and rob us of our overall sense of enjoyment in life.

UGLY ANGER: Anger at its worst becomes ugly when it is used to hurt or offend others or cause any type of damage to a person or object. Criticism, belittling, embarrassing, ignoring, and gossiping are all expressions of anger at its worst. Acts of racism, physical violence, hate speech, betrayals are all violent forms of anger being expressed with the sole purpose of causing extreme pain or hardship to another. Intimidation, manipulation, threats and coercion all seek to gain control over another party through the use of force. Damage to nature or personal property through acts of rioting and looting or individual acts of rage are all reminders of just how ugly anger can become when it's intent is to harm rather than to foster positive change.

To summarize: anger is neither a bad emotion nor a good one. It's simply a messenger. When we are able to understand why we react in anger as opposed to another feeling, we can uncover the root cause of our issues, resolve them and ultimately channel our actions into creating positive change that benefits not only the self but those around us as well. Use anger to your advantage. Much good can come from doing so.

Jesus got angry. He was troubled by the many injustices he encountered while on Earth. At times, he expressed his dismay to those around Him. Anger, as with all emotions, has a place and purpose. But how does one know if there is too much anger in their lives? Here are ten warning signs to gauge if your anger levels exceed what is considered safe and healthy:

1. Frequency: how often do you get angry? Rarely, every day, several times a day, or are you always upset? One who flies off the handle at the drop of a hat needs to get to the root of their issues.

2. Intensity: do you find yourself primarily mildly annoyed, angry or do you express full blown rage? Mild anger is easily remedied without causing significant damage. Intense anger or rage can prove extremely detrimental to one's safety and well-being.

3. Duration: does your anger dissipate momentarily, do you struggle to let it go, or are you someone who holds on to it indefinitely, possibly even seeking revenge? The longer the anger remains the greater the damage.

4. Aggression: does your anger lead to aggressive outbursts of a physical or verbal nature? This can have devastating consequences on the individual as well as those around them. One out of control moment can lead to a lifetime of suffering.

5. Relationships: are your intimate, personal, social, and/or professional relationships being negatively impacted by your anger? Are you fighting with family and/or friends or having problems getting along with coworkers? Don't blame them! This red flag is a serious indicator of deep rooted issues and needs immediate attention.

6. Outsiders: how are those around you being affected by your anger? Are people afraid of you or do they avoid you for fear of triggering an outburst? We often learn the most about ourselves by carefully observing how our actions impact others.

7. Health: is your physical well-being being affected by your anger? Even repressed anger can lead to health issues ranging from mild stomach upset, to elevated blood pressure, to cancer and beyond. Listen to your body - it is a messenger for your emotional self.

8. Law: has your anger gotten you in trouble with the law? Have you been arrested for a physical altercation or for damaging personal property? Major red flag - one bad choice can change your life forever.

9. Joy: how is your anger impacting your overall enjoyment of life? Are you agitated, miserable, unhappy or simply unable to fully embrace life? Remember - you were created to be joyful and happy. You deserve so much better but only you are responsible for your life.

10. Others: what do your friends, family, and coworkers say about you? Do they believe you have a problem with anger? People act as mirrors: they reflect back to us what we do not recognize in ourselves. Pay close attention to what others have to say. They can prove to be your greatest allies.

No one is suggesting that you never be angry. Even the Son of God got ticked off. But keep in mind: anger is a choice. No one makes you angry. How frequently you experience it, how long you hold on to it, the manner in which you express it, process it, and/or heal it is entirely in your hands. Understanding a developer estoppels form can be very confusing to consumers. Industry specific terms may be unfamiliar even to long time timeshare owners. It's very important, however, to ensure that you fully understand what type of Wyndham Vacation Club timeshare points are going to be transferred to you at closing- and how the usage of those available points can be impacted by the point designations shown.

During the closing process, your title agent or attorney should send you a completed estoppels form. This is also commonly referred to as an ownership and account verification form. An estoppels for a timeshare ownership is quite different from the estoppels request common to traditional real estate. For a residential closing, the estoppels would basically contain loan payoff and financial information from the current mortgage company. In a timeshare closing, the estoppels should provide you with a complete explanation and confirmation not only of the financial status of the property being puchased, but should also provide you with a clear picture of the ownership details of the interval and unit being transferred.

For Wyndham Vacation Ownership transfers, the terminology used on estoppels forms is specific to this timeshare developer. There are five ways points can be classified on an estoppels:

1. Regular Use Points - These are the traditional allotment of points given on the owner's use year anniversary. These points expire on the next anniversary date. Deeded weeks that have been converted to Fairshare or Wyndham points will have the anniversary of Jan 1st each year. the use year anniversaries will vary for all UDI contracts (purchased as points and the deed itself shows the point allotment instead of a week and unit).

2. PIC points - These are Personal Interval Choice points which are given for a non-Fairfield or Wyndham resort week which is deposited into the owners Wyndham points account. The owners must have paid a PIC enrollment fee for each non-Wyndham ownership in order to have this opportunity. Points begin the day the deposit is acknowledged by Wyndham and expire one year later. PIC privileges do not transfer on the resale or secondary market.

3. Credit Pool Points - Owners can bank Regular Use Points that they do not plan to use during their usage year. Standard owners must notify Wyndham of their intention to bank their upcoming year's points prior to the beginning of their use year. In other words, they must bank their point allotment before it is received into their account. Gold level and higher VIP owners (VIP privileges do not transfer on the resale or secondary market) can deposit as late as six months after their use year begins. Credit pool points will expire three years after the date of deposit. Credit pool points do transfer to a new buyer via a resale or secondary market transaction.

4. Canceled points - These points result from a reservation that is canceled more than thirty days prior to the check-in date. These points must be used before the end of the current use year and they cannot be cannot be banked into a future use year (even if the VIP level would allow banking for regular use points). canceled points can be banked into an independent exchange system if there are enough points to reserve a full week, which is then deposited into the independent exchange. If there are not enough canceled points to reserve a full week, then the points must be used withing the Wyndham system before the use year expires or they are lost.

5. Limited points - These points result from a reservation that is canceled thirty days prior (or less) to the check-in date. Limited points can only be used to book reservations up to 30 days in advance of the requested dates. These points must be used before the end of the current use year and they cannot be cannot be banked into a future use year. Generally, because of the limited time between the reservation and usage- these points must be used within the Wyndham system and cannot normally be deposited into a third party exchange. Limited points are generally considered to have very little value on the resale market.

Before finalizing any closing, you should always ensure that the estoppels matches up with the original purchase and sale contract- and that you will be receiving the point classification you expect.
